Professional Experience
Technology Support Officer at TP3

Duties:
- Provided Tier 1 to 3 internal support, ensuring 99%+ uptime at 4 sites for:
- 35 Windows Server 2003 R2, 2008, 2008 R2, and 2008 R2 Core Edition Servers
- Ubuntu Linux 10.04 server with Tomcat and Apache2
- 12 Cisco Series 2950 and 2960 Switches
- Provided help desk support for over 80 staff members, adhering to a service level agreement. This resulted in a sustained 95%+ satisfaction rating from staff members since beginning of employment.
- Designed, built, and configured a new forest for a production network to replace the existing 2003 network. This included:
- Built and configured 3 Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers at 3 sites
- Configured Microsoft Exchange 2010 at each site, including Outlook Web Access
- The upgrade resulted in improvement in the security and performance of the network infrastructure, and an increase in the available features available to Microsoft Outlook 2010
- Configured and maintained Cisco switches in a multisite environment, including configuration modifications and duplication onto a hot-swappable switch to use in the event of a switch failing
- Supervised a remote IT staff member once a week to ensure a set number of tasks including virtualisation maintenance and technology issues for that site were performed correctly
- Collaborated with a team to successfully install, customise, test, and implement Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Manager 2011 within a predetermined 3 month timeframe. The outcome of the project resulted in higher productivity by staff, more features available to them, and the elimination of a yearly licencing fee. I performed the following tasks:
- Installed a development and production environment, including the install and setup of SQL Server 2008 R2 and Reporting Services
- Provided additional functionality by customising JavaScript script's to perform various automation tasks
- Customised the design and functionality of reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for generation of quotes. This allowed more product information to be sent to clients
- Created and maintained business documentation on a SharePoint 2007 wiki, including:
- A network diagram created in Microsoft Visio that included the IP addresses of all network devices, and physical and virtual servers
- Shutdown procedures for servers and network equipment in the event of an emergency
- Business Continuity Plan outlining procedures to implement if the main site goes offline
- Backup procedure for the Exchange database including instructions to extract the database using PowerShell
- Maintaining a repository of information for commonly performed tasks, reducing the time it takes to retrieve information to perform the task
- Installed and configured Hyper-V, Virtualbox, and VMware ESXi virtualisation in development and production environments, utilising all of the server hardware and reducing the need for purchasing new hardware
- Upgraded the VMware ESX 3.5 infrastructure to ESXi 5.0, using vSphere client and vCenter Converter for Virtual migration
- Created and maintained a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) for a training room network. This included:
- Implementation of a virtualisation solution for each PC, resulting in increased application speed and compatibility with Microsoft and Adobe products
- Introduction of antivirus software to combat the spread of virus's through staff members USB media
- Implementation of FOG, an automated network based imaging and distribution manager, replacing the slower process of imaging using individual Ghost CD's
- Designed, built, and configured a Microsoft Lync 2010 server in an internal environment. This reduced cost of phone calls between staff at different sites
- Created Intranet websites with JavaScript functionality and email templates for clients including Qantas, GE Capital Finance, and Nycomed
- Maintained the company's website using Microsoft SharePoint 2010
- Ensured complete setup of new employees, including creation of Active Directory, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Lync, and Microsoft Exchange mailbox accounts
Web Developer & Systems Administrator at Boyd Design

Duties:
- Managed Cloud based Linux servers running WHM and cPanel hosting software for over 100 clients
- Centralised the storage of data onto a Ubuntu Linux file and web server
- Created and implemented a maintenance and backup plan for the server and employees computers
- Provided training for users and staff for Content Management Systems, Shopping carts, and Newsletter managers
- Provided Tier 1 and 2 helpdesk support for over 100 users, including issues involving the setting up of email accounts
- Supervised three off-site programmers to develop and manage PHP programming jobs, including providing the conceptual designs, flow charts, and story boards
- Worked unsupervised for over 6 months, being the first point of contact for walk in clients
- Researched new methods for JavaScript integration into websites using a variety of JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery and Prototype
- Maintained manuals and a knowledge-base wiki to provide information on systems that were installed and configured
- Converted website designs built in Photoshop to XHTML and CSS for over 100 clients
- Consulted with clients to ensure the final conversion of the design to a web format was correct, and to make changes to websites built previously
- Conformed the coding of HTML and CSS to W3C recommendations for cross-browser compatibility
